About the Business
I first became interested in pursuing counselling as a career in the late 90s after having my own personal therapy which helped me to address some difficult issues. As someone who has received and provided person centred counselling I can see from a personal and professional level the benefits this way of working can bring. In 2002 I completed an introductory counselling certificate and a level two certificate course in counselling skills and studies. In 2006 I qualified as counsellor/psychotherapist when I awarded my BACP accredited Diploma in Person Centred Counselling and Psychotherapy from the University of Warwick.
During my Diploma I worked as a volunteer counsellor for a number of organisations including Cruse Bereavement Care, Terrence Higgins Trust, Freshwinds Birmingham, Relate and a number of educational establishments in Coventry. After qualifying I continued to volunteer, and gained considerable experience, and in 2007 I started to provide private counselling.
