About the Business
Cognitive Behabioural Therapy (CBT) aims to support individuals in understanding the development and maintenance of their difficulties through increasing their awareness of the links between their thoughts, feelings and behaviours. Strategies are then taught to enable an individual to manage their difficulties more effectively and to feel more in control of them. CBT is an evidence-based, effective treatment for many different psychological problems (see the National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence for details).
Schema therapy is used for people with longstanding difficulties, such as chronic depression or low self-worth, or unhealthy patterns of behaviour, for instance within relationships. Schema Therapy integrates experiential, emotion, relational, cognitive and behavioural aspects to the formulation and treatment approach.
